The course introduces learners to essential concept, issues and trends in Community Health Nursing. The focus is on individuals, families, groups, communities based on community health nursing process and Primary Health Care.

The course introduces learners to principles of pharmacology as applied to Nursing and Midwifery care. The course tackles key areas which include: preparation, classification, effects, storage and administration of drugs to clients of all ages.


This core course introduces learners to basic principles in microbiological and parasitological sciences, immunology and epidemiology necessary for understanding the causes of diseases and infestations, as applied to nursing in prevention and control of infections.
